At the beginning of the 70s
the pressure on price caused by cheap imports into the German and
international brush industry grew rapily, demanding more and more
agreements from the traditonal brush makers. This was the moment when
Peter Richter, togehter with his father, Heinrich, had, at the Richter
Werke GmbH, the initial idea to produce prefabricated tufts - small
portions of pre-glued hair - which became well known under the protected
name of
- Maker.
Peter and Heinrich originally had in mind the production of tufts for the
cosmetic industry (hence the name "Harzer Cosmetik Pinsel"), but over the
folling years the production method was used for all sorts of brushes. In
co-production with an engineer, the developed the process of "portionising",
which was originally exclusively done by weighing out - or after many
years of experience! - So that they were now in the position to measure
exact quantities of all sorts of material to produce the tufts.
The marketing of the new product was frit done on a small scale by
introducing the article to a few of number of costumers grew with the
result that a decision was made in the summer of 1976 to found
- or more correctly "The
Harzer Cosmetik Pinsel GmbH".
The first appearance on the market was under auspices of Richter Werke
GmbH, but the development of totally new structur of the company was the
impulse to introduce
at the 1986 Interbrossa
at Freiburg as an independent new company. Advertsing, with the well-known
picture of Peter Richter as
- Maker, was leaving its
impression in such a way that, even today, some post is adressly only to
"The
- Maker, Bad Lauterberg . . ." ! Peter Richter had found a niche
in the market which a dedicated, could now be filled.
The production of prefabricated tufts now
takes in artistīs brushes and a slightly cheaper range of school products,
cosmetic applikation and the enormus field of technical brushes and brush
heads, which are sold to many customers in Germany, Wurpe and worldwide.
Over the last few years
- Maker, has been
supported by british colleagues by the foundation of an additional branch
in the UK.
Twenty years of
means two decades of
devotion to its customers; means twenty years of co-operation with the top
range of suppliers and fine hairdressers in order to fulfil the very
highest expectations - a demand of
- Maker par excellence
himself.
